The Nicholas Building is a multi-storey office building with a retail arcade. Influenced by the 'Chicago style' of architecture, it was built in 1926 in the Greek revival palazzo style. It has a grey terracotta faience façade, and an arcade with a leadlight roofed dome. Built during a time of mposed height restrictions, there are 9 floors of businesses and shops, with many artist studios and jewellers. It is both heritage listed and listed by the National trust.
