The Australian Tattoo Expo is returning to Melbourne from 30th November - 2nd December for an epic weekend of tattoos, art and entertainment. The biggest tattoo event in the country is bringing hundreds of the very best tattoo artists together under one roof at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre to showcase their work.
The last stop on the 2018 Australian Tattoo Expo tour will feature over 300 of the most talented local and international tattoo artists, including artists travelling from as far and wide as Singapore, Russia, Germany, Korea and the USA to take part in the event. Charity partner, Survivor’s Ink, will be bringing their non-profit project to the Melbourne leg of the tour for the first time, providing breast cancer survivors with access to realistic cosmetic tattooing to aid in their physical and emotional recovery, completely free of charge.
Visitors will have the chance to meet their next (or first!) artist, watch them in action, research the latest trends, or even treat themselves to a tattoo on the spot! Artists will be selling prints and merch, and retailers will be in attendance selling streetwear, jewellery and more so visitors can get a head start on their Christmas shopping!
Hosted by Chasing Ghosts frontman, Jimmy Kyle, the event will feature a jam-packed entertainment program, with the Fuel Girls returning to Australia for the very LAST TIME to bring their high-octane fire and aerial show all the way from the UK. Tattoo competitions will take place each evening, including the fourth and FINAL round of the 2018 Australian Tattoo Series. Artists will continue battling it out for points to come out on top, with the overall winner taking home the title of 2018 Australian Tattoo Series Champion and a sweet $10,000 in prize money.
The Sh!ttest Tattoo Competition will be returning to the Expo, so come along on the Sunday and show off that ink that seemed like a good idea at the time. You might just win something!

BY TRAM: Tram routes 96, 109 and 12 (Stop 124A Casino/MCEC) will all take you to our Clarendon Street entrance. Otherwise, tram routes 48 and 70 (Stop D5) take you to Flinders Street. BY CAR: If you’re being dropped off at the Exhibition Centre, our Clarendon Street entrance is the closest entrance. If you’re getting a lift to the Convention Centre, the entrance near DFO is the closest drop off point. If you’re driving in, our Exhibition Centre car park can be accessed via Normanby Road. BY BUS: From Monday to Friday, bus route 237 goes via Southern Cross Station to Lorimer Street, which is roughly a five-minute walk to MCEC. For bus timetables or further trip planning, use Public Transport Victoria’s Journey Planner.
BY TAXI OR UBER: If you’re heading to the Exhibition Centre, ask your taxi or Uber driver to drop you off at MCEC’s Clarendon Street entrance. If you’re going to the Convention Centre, ask your driver to drop you off at Convention Centre Place, next to Pan Pacific Melbourne and DFO South Warf. We have two nearby taxi ranks – Crown, Clarendon Street and DFO, Convention Centre Place.
When you arrive from Melbourne Airport (also known as Tullamarine Airport), you have three options. You can catch a taxi from outside your terminal or request an Uber by following the signs outside your terminal to the pick up zones. You can also get the Skybus, which has a service called the Southbank Docklands Express that stops at the Clarendon Street entrance of MCEC.
