Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) Acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Narrm, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and to Elders of all First Nations communities that visit MCEC.

We’re taking a break! Our office is closed 21 December – 5 January, but the fun continues.

Net Zero by 2050

We're committed to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 50% from baseline levels by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) by 2050.

Our path to net zero

We’ve developed a Net Zero Roadmap that details our emissions sources and overall impact. To do this effectively, we’ve examined our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and explored pathways to support reduction. Reaching net zero is a collective effort, and we’re committed to leading the way towards real, lasting impact.

The development and publication of a roadmap provides valuable baseline data and evidence to support our targets, and reassurance that they are realistic, science-based, and achievable.

Our roadmap

Next steps

Developing our net zero roadmap has helped us understand our current impact, and the potential pathways and actions we can explore as we journey towards net zero. We are committed to maintaining a science-based, realistic and transparent approach to the work we are undertaking as part of our journey.

Here’s what our next steps look like:

  • Confirm and publish our net zero ambitions and targets through to 2050

  • Develop and execute an opportunity implementation plan

  • Continuously improve and report our emissions inventory

  • Refine the pathway for emissions reductions

  • Update, re-baseline, and regularly review our emissions inventory
