As July approaches, the excitement in Melbourne's air is palpable. Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is gearing up to host two of the most eagerly awaited events in the design world: Decor + Design 2024 and the Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) 2024.

From 17 to 19 July, our venue will transform into a dynamic hub of creativity, innovation, and inspiration, drawing the crème de la crème of the industry to Australia’s design capital.

Melbourne is built on creativity

Why is Melbourne the perfect host for Decor + Design and AIFF?

Our city plays a vital role in the arts, nurturing creative experimentation and bringing art and people together. Every street corner feels like a new adventure with vibrant street art and avant-garde architecture. Countless showrooms and boutiques house the best in local and international brands, mixing modern and vintage pieces for every style. And prestigious institutions like RMIT and the University of Melbourne continue to nurture the next generation of designers.

Of course, our very own calendar here at MCEC is always loaded with events that attract creatives and showcase the latest trends.

Decor + Design 2024

A milestone year

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Decor + Design 2024 promises to be a vibrant spectacle of interior design, home décor, textiles, and art.

This premier event is the ultimate annual engagement for interior designers, decorators, architects, retailers, and design media, all gathering to connect and draw inspiration. This year’s theme, "Evolution," seamlessly blends heritage and emerging brands, spotlighting the latest innovations in the design world.

Green dreams come true

A highlight of this year will be the inaugural Green Design Show, a beautifully defined exhibition celebrating truly sustainable furniture, products, and materials with features from leading brands from across the Australian green design space.

Supported by the Green Building Council of Australia, the inaugural Green Design Conference will provide essential education and insights on upcoming government legislation and sustainable interior design and architecture practices.

Curated by industry experts, the Decor + Design 2024 event aspires to spark a major shift in Australian design.

Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) 2024

Furniture wonderland

Running in tandem with Decor + Design, the Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) 2024 is the premier event for furniture buying and networking in Australia. With a revamped three-day format, AIFF is the annual hub for retail chains, online retailers, independent retailers, and commercial buyers to discover the latest in furniture innovations.

Learn from legends

The theme of "Evolution" extends to AIFF 2024, featuring an impressive lineup of keynote speakers in the International Seminar Series. Attendees can look forward to insights from British design luminary Abigail Ahern, alongside Australian design stars like David Hicks, Greg Natale, Kate Nixon, Brahman Perera, Natalie Walton, James Treble, and Jen Bishop. These sessions will provide an unparalleled opportunity to learn from industry leaders and apply their invaluable knowledge in practice.
