Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) Acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Narrm, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and to Elders of all First Nations communities that visit MCEC.

MCEC Makes Every Virtual Event a Real-Life Success

With its award-wining technical expertise and cutting-edge technology, MCEC is launching a virtual event offering to help customers connect with their audiences in uncertain times.

From ticketed online events to corporate launches, large scale conferences and even virtual gala dinners, MCEC can provide an elevated virtual experience with high production values to match; further cementing the centre’s reputation as Melbourne’s destination for big ideas and inspirational events.

As part of the offering, MCEC has invested in purpose built studios that allow for scalable events – from a more intimate fireside chat, to a panel discussion of up to six presenters.

There’s also the capacity to host live-streaming across multiple spaces that allow for a hybrid of virtual and in-person events, for when restrictions ease.

MCEC Chief Executive Peter King says virtual or hybrid events will play an important part in the future; “While we can’t meet in person or use our studios under current restrictions in Melbourne at the moment, we’re offering our customers solutions on the other side of our city’s Stage 4 restrictions.”

“Even when we are able to come together in-person, virtual will give customers access to new audiences and audience-insights, while making it easier for international delegates and presenters to take part,” he said.

With many events postponed due to coronavirus (COVID-19) and associated restrictions around the world, virtual conferences and events are fast becoming a new reality, but research has shown that up to 60 per cent of event organisers aren’t confident running virtual offerings*.

MCEC’s skilled technical team can take the pain out of organising a high-quality online event, and elevate the audience experience with broadcast-quality streaming delivered by high-speed internet, on a software platform that’s both customisable and secure for customers.

“Our experienced and passionate team of event specialists will guide you through the creation of your virtual events and later, once we can gather again, hybrid events,” Joshua Bryce, MCEC Manager of Technology Sales, said.

“Let us take the strain of delivering a virtual event and be confident that we’ll make you shine.”

While MCEC is known for creating unique experiences at its iconic site on the Yarra River, they have the in-house expertise to lead in the virtual event space, making this new foray an exciting and reliable offering for customers both now and into the future.

“At MCEC, our knowledge, passion, top-of-the-range technology and dedicated studios are all under one roof, ensuring a seamless experience from planning to delivery,” Mr King said.

“That means we can continue to be your best partner to deliver events online, offline and a combination of the two. We have the capabilities to adapt from virtual to hybrid and back again, and the passion to make your event shine no matter the circumstance.”
