MCEC Unveils 2024 Menu: A Culinary Delight for Every Guest

By Maddi Devoy|

MCEC is thrilled to launch its 2024 menu. With a focus on sustainability, local ingredients and inclusivity, the creative and delicious menu is set to impress everyone.

Executive Chef, Peter Haycroft leads MCEC’s award-winning culinary team. “Our passion, creativity and hospitality shines through our menu.”

“MCEC is at the forefront of the events industry. We break the mould when it comes to conference catering, incorporating interactive stations and re-defining traditional plated meals,” he said.

MCEC’s 2024 menu highlights local ingredients, supporting the local economy and showcasing Victoria’s unique flavours. By working with local suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability, the menu is not only delicious but also environmentally responsible and guarantees our guests enjoy the freshest produce available.

“Victoria is the food bowl of Australia, and we’re proud to work with exceptional local suppliers to showcase the incredible array of produce our region is famous for,” Peter said.

The 2024 menu takes inclusivity to new heights with the introduction of the Everybody’s Plate menu range.

Everybody’s Plate features a wide variety of options that cater to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-friendly dietary requirements. Showcasing whole foods, pulses and legumes, as well as vibrant and fresh salads, the culinary team has created a menu that is both nutritious and flavourful. Additionally, MCEC is proud to offer completely vegan, vegetarian and gluten-friendly desserts.

Executive Sous Chef of Culinary Development Karl Edmonds has been driving the shift towards inclusive, healthy and delicious alternatives.

“MCEC is a welcoming place for all, and this extends to our menus. Our goal is to create inclusive menus that exceed expectations,” he said.

“In 2023 we saw great success with our vegan, vegetarian and gluten-friendly options in our lunch menus. Expanding this across our entire menu range is a bold move and we know our customers will be delighted,” he added.

Approximately 35% - 40% of all menu items are now suitable for all allergens and dietary requirements. Dishes are free from nuts, dairy, egg, sesame and seafood, ensuring every guest can enjoy a safe and delicious dining experience.

“A significant amount of research and development has gone into creating this menu and we’re proud to launch options we think everyone will enjoy, whether they have dietary needs or not. It’s a courageous direction for the menu,” Karl said.

The 2024 menu is a testament to MCEC’s ongoing commitment to inclusion, whilst always exceeding customer expectations. Whether attending a conference, exhibition or special event, visitors can look forward to indulging in a culinary journey that celebrates diversity and showcases the finest flavours of Victoria.
