Melbourne International Film Festival

Earlier this year, we were lucky enough to host the opening weekend of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF). Run over three days, the event kicked off in our Plenary with the Opening Gala night.

The evening saw numerous VIPs walking the red carpet, including Australian basketballer Ben Simmons and actor Hugo Weaving.

The Opening Gala’s feature film was the world premiere of The Australian Dream, featuring former Australian Rules footballer and Indigenous rights activist, Adam Goodes. The powerful documentary brought the entire audience to their feet with a 10-minute standing ovation.

After being captivated by the film, guests were welcomed into the foyer where they were greeted by MCEC EAT Stations, a Chandon bar and a magical forest-like feel thanks to curated lighting by our Lighting Specialist team.
