In another successful year, MCEC's pastry chefs have added nine medals to their ever-growing trophy cabinet, at the 2019 Australian Food Awards.

MCEC’s awarded products were:

Gold
  • Coconut, passionfruit and vanilla sorbet (Best in class)

  • Hazelnut ice cream

  • Pistachio ice cream

  • Coffee ice cream

Silver
  • Dulce de leche ice cream

  • Mango and yuzu sorbet

  • Banana and lime sorbet

  • Cherry berry sorbet

Bronze
  • Coconut and pineapple sorbet

MCEC’s Executive Pastry Chef, Alessandro Bartesaghi said entering the Australian Food Awards enables MCEC to benchmark themselves against other large producers.

“Our success at the Australian Food Awards since its inception is testament to the talent and passion within our kitchen,” Mr Bartesaghi said.

“The awards are also an opportunity to celebrate our produce.

“We cater for over 1,000 events annually and everything we prepare is made fresh, in-house and by hand, using the very best locally sourced produce.

“This philosophy is what makes our kitchen so exceptional in the events industry and why we continue to be recognised amongst Australia’s best food producers.”

MCEC’s coconut, passionfruit and vanilla sorbet was named ‘Best in Class (Sorbet) in Victoria’ and will progress to be considered for a Champions Trophy in the frozen dessert category, with winners announced on September.
